How To Operate The Christmas Tree?

The Christmas tree is a wellhead device used to exploit oil such as self-flowing wells and mechanical production wells. It is the main equipment for controlling and regulating oil and gas production at the uppermost part of the oil and gas well. It mainly consists of three parts: casing head, tubing head, and oil (gas) tree body.

1. Well opening (self-flowing well): 1. Ensure that the production system is complete and the flow is smooth to accept the fluid after opening the well. 2. All the valves on the X-mas tree are in the correct switching state, and control the nozzle (adjustable nozzle). 3. Check the state of wellhead oil pressure and safety equipment.

2. Close the well (self-flowing well): 1. Close the oil nozzle. 2. Close the wing valve. 3. Close the ground safety valve if necessary. 4. Close the main valve if necessary.

3. In some downhole operations, the operating steps of the Christmas tree valve are as follows:
1. Shut down the well before running the downhole tools (choke, wing valve, wax removal valve, surface safety valve and main valve).
2. Open the cap of the Christmas tree, install the rising riser, blowout preventer, and then pressure test the standpipe.
3. Open the ground safety valve, put a fuse screw cap on the safety valve to lock the ground safety valve. In the open position, test the reliability of locking the screw cap.
4. Lock the hydraulic control circuit of the tubing downhole safety valve and test its reliability.
5. Open the main valve, then open the wax removal valve.
6. Hang labels on the locking parts of the main valve, wax removal valve and safety valve to prevent other personnel from moving the valves at will.
7. Run into the downhole operation tool.
8. After the downhole operation tool lifts up the standpipe, close the main valve and wax removal valve.
9. After the blowout preventer standpipe is depressurized and unloaded, install the Christmas tree cap,
10. Remove the locking threaded cap of the ground safety valve, open the hydraulic locking valve of the downhole safety valve of the tubing, remove the attached tag,
11. Open the well for production according to the instructions.
