Products Description

The Liquid-gas Separators is a critical piece of equipment in drilling operations, primarily used to separate free gas from gas-containing drilling fluid, ensuring the stable operation of the drilling circulation system and preventing safety hazards caused by gas accumulation. Its core working principle is based on physical separation, using structural design to enhance the gas-liquid separation effect, ensuring that the drilling fluid can be recycled and the gas is safely discharged.

The Liquid-gas Separators specific working principle is as follows

the gas-containing drilling fluid enters the separator tank through the inlet under pressure, first impacting a pre-set impact plate. This impact causes the drilling fluid to disperse rapidly, then spreading evenly onto a series of internal baffles within the tank. This design increases the contact area between the drilling fluid and air, and also promotes turbulent flow as the drilling fluid flows downwards, disrupting the gas-liquid mixture and separating the less dense free gas from the drilling fluid. The separated free gas collects at the top of the tank and is discharged through the exhaust port; the length of the exhaust pipe needs to be cut and installed according to the actual drilling layout and safety distance, ultimately leading the gas to a designated safe area for discharge, avoiding risks such as explosion and poisoning caused by gas leakage. The clean drilling fluid, after gas removal, flows through the outlet to the vibrating screen, and after further filtration, flows into the circulation tank and is reintroduced into the drilling operation cycle.

Installation and maintenance must strictly follow the specifications

during installation, the Liquid-gas Separators must be fixed on a flat ground next to the circulation tank and close to the vibrating screen to shorten the drilling fluid transportation path; multi-point fixing using steel cables should be used through the lifting lugs at the four corners of the separator body to ensure that the equipment remains stable and does not shift in the drilling vibration environment. At the same time, a combustion chamber and ignition device must be installed at the exhaust pipe outlet to safely burn the discharged combustible gas. In terms of maintenance, the lower buffer baffles should be checked before each use. If the wear of the baffles exceeds 10mm, both baffles must be replaced as a pair; single baffle replacement or use with damage is strictly prohibited. After each operation, the residual drilling fluid in the separator must be completely drained, especially in low-temperature winter environments, to ensure that no liquid remains to prevent tank freezing or pipe blockage. In addition, the tank's inner walls, baffles, and inlet/outlet pipes should be thoroughly cleaned regularly by opening the cleaning ports or manholes to remove residual drilling fluid, sand, and impurities, thus ensuring the equipment's separation efficiency and service life.
